The 2026 outdoor swimming season has ended

The outdoor swimming season at the Hohegeiß Forest Swimming Pool ended on 31 August 2026.

After a lovely summer, the outdoor swimming pool opened its doors for the last time this season on Sunday 30 August. We’re already looking forward to the next outdoor swimming season in Hohegeiß!

Expected opening in 2027

The forest swimming pool usually reopens at the start of summer. We will update this page as soon as the opening hours and the start of the 2027 season are announced.

The Hohegeiß Forest Swimming Pool is currently closed. The 2026 outdoor swimming season ended on 30 August.

The Hohegeiß Forest Swimming Pool

The Hohegeiß Forest Swimming Pool is one of the most popular destinations in the climatic health resort of Hohegeiß. Surrounded by woods and the characteristic Harz countryside, the outdoor pool offers the perfect opportunity to cool off and relax on warm summer’s days.

Just a few minutes’ walk from the Berghotel Hohegeiß, you’ll find a large swimming pool, a non-swimmers’ area, spacious sunbathing lawns and a kiosk selling snacks, ice cream and drinks.

Outdoor swimming fun in the Harz Mountains

The outdoor swimming pool offers ideal conditions for families, swimmers and those looking to relax. Whilst children play in the water, adults can soak up the sun on the sunbathing lawns and let their gaze wander over the Harz countryside.

The kiosk at the outdoor swimming pool also offers a range of light refreshments, including snacks, drinks and ice cream.

From the Hohegeiß Mountain Hotel to the outdoor swimming pool

From the Berghotel Hohegeiß, you can easily reach the forest swimming pool on foot in just a few minutes. On warm summer days in particular, the outdoor pool is a popular way to round off hikes, cycle rides and other leisure activities in the Harz Mountains.
